This Study Question is a follow up to Epic Star Wars. Episode IV: A Divine Hope.
According to Dictionary.com, the word glaring denotes something “very conspicuous or obvious.” This is the kind of evidence that people who are skeptical of the existence of angels demand. But the real question that these skeptics should consider answering is:
What would glaring evidence of the existence of angels have on you?
The Bible highlights many cases where the angels of God are expressly involved in the affairs of man. One of these notable encounters is found in 2 Kings 6:8-23.
The king of Syria, determined to end Elisha’s frustration of his battle plans, sent a great army to capture the prophet in the city of Dothan. Even though an enemy army surrounded him, Elisha did not fear this threat against his life.
His servant, on the other hand, could only see certain doom as the chariots of Syria surrounded them. For the sake of his worrying servant, Elisha asked the Lord to open his servant’s eyes and reveal to him the reason why he himself did not fear the threat against them.
The Lord acknowledged this request and revealed to Elisha’s servant the great host of fiery chariots He sent to protect them. Upon seeing the army of the Lord around him, ready to fight for him and his master, the spirit of Elisha’s servant must have been greatly relieved. What followed next was a miraculous deliverance for Israel, as well.
What if your eyes were opened for a brief moment like Elisha’s servant? What if you could see all the angels among us right now?
You would see God’s angels ministering to man, preventing catastrophes caused by evil angels and helping those who were hurt by them. You would see them helping God’s people overcome their sins. You would see them sitting beside people, giving them comfort and encouragement to deal with their trials. According to their Lord’s direction, they would be doing these things to lead the people of the world to the way, the truth, and the life, Jesus Christ.
You’d also see the evil angels, as well. You would see these demons causing terrible catastrophes throughout the Earth. You would see how they incite their human agents among us to blame God for their evil deeds. You would see them encouraging people to indulge in habits and practices that would lead them to serving false gods.
You would behold them urging men and women to enter bars and clubs to drown their stresses and sorrows in alcohol, drugs, and other sins. You would see them attacking the spirits of people grieving over the loss of a loved one or for the things they long for the most. You would see how they work to lead these vulnerable people to blame God for their suffering.
You would finally see that their end goal of their evil works are to lead us into worshiping Satan, directly or indirectly.
If you had glaring, indisputable evidence of the existence of angels and the Epic Star Wars going on today, how would it affect you? How would it affect the way you lived or what you believed? If you aren’t preparing for Jesus’ return, chances are strong that the glaring evidence you’re looking for may not do you any good at all.
The books of Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers testify to this. God brought the nation of Israel out of Egypt by His divine power and sustained them throughout their wanderings in the wilderness. Even though millions of people witnessed the ten plagues, even though they dwelled in God’s presence for over forty years, they still rebelled against Him. They had all the evidence that one could ask for and they still hardened their hearts against Him.
The day is coming soon where every last person on Earth will behold the glaring evidence of the angels’ existence. Over seven billion people will behold Satan himself, in all his brightness.
But by then, those who have spent their entire lives denying the existence of God and these celestial beings will be vulnerable to his final deception. They will either be zealous to follow those deceiving angels, even Satan, in a vain attempt to atone for their life of unbelief or they will harden themselves in their unbelief forever.
These people will give no heed to those who spent their entire lives trying to warn them about this deception. They will walk by sight, not by faith. It will be this kind of walk that will seal their doom. Only those who walk by faith as Elisha did will stand on the Lord’s side in the time before His return.
Do not wait for every barrier to the truth to be broken before you believe in God, for Satan will spare no means to keep you from God in these last days. Unnatural catastrophes on the Earth, the acts of evil men, betrayals by friends and family, and rampant diseases are only some of the devices that are used to harden hearts against God.
With what little you know, seek God with all your heart. When the desire for truth is coupled with faith, God will surely be found of you.
“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” (2 Cor. 11:14)
“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” (2 Cor. 5:7)
“Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” (Jn. 20:29)
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Heb. 11:6)
